Elliotte's lastest trick!

As of a week or so ago Ell has been quite the rolly polly.  I will put her down in the middle of the floor, go get a drink of water, and come back to a baby that is on the far end of the floor near the turpentine and razor blades.  Just kidding of course but I do need to be more careful with where I set her.  I fear that I have now entered the mobile/supremely exhausted stage of motherhood...I fear this will cut into my naps drastically.  I have tried to catch her on tape and put it up on the blog but the little stinker is too tricky.  One of these days I will catch her in the act and there will be prove of this new trick Elliotte likes to call "Tootsie Roll".

In the meantime I have posted several pictures of a recent photo shoot done by my husband.  I have noticed that pictures of Elliotte and with my husband have been over taking our house, but there are hardly any of yours truly and the baby.  I chalk it up to me being the overly excited mother who wants to document every moment my bambino has, but want some of me with her!!!  I finally have some pictures I can cherish forever of my baby and me.
Let your eyes dine of this lovely gallery!

Gammy strikes again!

Husband was out of town this Friday thru Tuesday so my mom came down to help me with the baby!  She got here Saturday and left Wednesday morning.  Elliotte sure did have fun with her Gammy.  We went out to eat all the time (I have gained 20 pounds) and even got to spend the night in a hotel!  Elliotte had her first swim thanks to the Radisson's indoor pool, it was really funny watching her sport her ladybug swimsuit complete with fat rolls hanging out every direction.   At first she didn't even seem to care about the water but than all of a sudden she took it very seriously.  Her face was pretty much on concentration overdrive, that is until she started trying to grab and eat all the leaves that were floating in the pool.  She didn't cry once, but really didn't giggle once either.  I on the other hand have decided to stop eating all together because that was the first time I was in a bathing suit since childbirth.

It was a fun, relaxing time but of course every stay has to have some drama to it.  On Sunday night we stayed at the Radisson, well when we got back home we found Ike missing from the backyard.  It had stormed the night before so I am sure that is what spooked him.  Luckily my mom was there to watch Ell because once I found him missing I got in the car and started looking for him.  About an hour later a policeman called and said they had found him on highway 75 on the access road about 3 miles away from our house.  He had almost been killed when the officer saw  him.  But what's really crazy is that he had gone by SMU right where the Radisson we were staying at was.  Its like he knew we were there.   I went to pick him up and lived a Kodiak moment..  I yelled his name and he started running to me as fast as he could (think Homeward Bound).  We embraced.  I cried.  We went home.  I am so glad he is okay, God is in control even in the small things.

Once the drama was over I went back to my mama.  Gammy and I cleaned the house and she gave me a few sewing lessons (so now I am a legit homemaker) and have many grand ideas on new projects I want to tackle but probably will never do/and or finish.  But its fun to dream about it anyway.

Finally Josh came home and we had a great dinner out with the whole family and topped off the night with a couple of games of Pinochle.   Gammy cleaned our clocks.

Thanks mom for coming down, Elliotte already misses you!

Grandpa and Grandma H come to visit!

This weekend my dad and Dodie came to see us!  They came on Friday and left Sunday after brunch.  We had lots of fun playing cards, and watching Elliotte's crazy antics. She went to Chuy's, Denny's and Red Lobster all for the first time.  Unfortunately however, her schedule got a little off and we had a very long night on Saturday, but I am happy to report that she is now back on track and even better (last night she slept from 9 to 7am)  A good time was had by all and I know Elliotte will be anxious to see them again hopefully in May. Thanks for coming to visit and maybe next time she will have teeth and that's the tooth! (Pun!)
I love you guys.

Four month Dr. appt

I love going to the doctor for Elliotte.  It is fun to see how much she has grown!  Yesterday she had her four month appointment and when the lady nurse called us up to check in she thought she had made a mistake.  You see, Elliotte is huge for her age.  The nurse responded surprised when we had to reassure her that this was indeed Elliotte and she was only four months old.  It made me proud of my big healthy baby.
Unfortunately she had to get her next round of shots.  The first needle didn't seem to phase her all that much she just had a confused look on her face, but the next one you could definitely tell she felt it.  She turned bright red and screamed like a champion.  The Doctor said she was a very happy, healthy baby but one problem for the future might be her bottom eyelashes.  Apparently due to her rather large cheek region her bottom lashes are getting squashed up against her eyeball.  She said that when Ell gets older and thins out (If that ever happens)  the problem will hopefully fix itself otherwise we might need to do a procedure (whatever that would be, shave em?)
Here are some picture to document our adventure.
